The Gilbert relies on volunteer actors, technicians, box office and support staff, design artists, and others to make our company run throughout the year. To volunteer, please join our volunteer list below.

What is Gilbert Guild? 

The Gilbert Guild’s Mission is to diligently support the Gilbert Theater through the coordinated efforts of a corps of volunteers who are actively engaged in the theater’s operations, functions, and endeavors. The Guild is a fairly new asset to the Theater, where the Gilbert seeks to gather, train, and inform volunteers for our productions, events and support.

The Guild is active in almost all the components of our organization, from back office, to box office -we are everywhere. It is a great opportunity for you to learn the inner workings of the theatre business, and provides the opportunity to network with other theatre lovers in the area. As a member of Gilbert Guild, you will have the opportunity to be trained in many exciting professional positions at Gilbert Theater. This is an excellent opportunity to gain real world knowledge of theater operations while supporting our tradition of providing inspiring, thought-provoking and spectacular entertainment for Fayetteville and surrounding communities.

Beyond volunteering, becoming a member of the Guild has other perks such as community service hours, a further insight into the theater environment, it  counts as work and theater experience, not to mention, complimentary tickets to our critically acclaimed performances. Our volunteers are one of our most valuable resources. The Gilbert treasures its volunteers as an essential part of our successful, growing community theater. Areas of support in order of priority:

  1. Technical Support for Gilbert productions.
  2. Administrative Support (office, box office, board meetings, etc.)
  3. Fundraising
  4. Pre-Production construction and tech.  Off-season projects and facility maintenance.

Meetings:

Please call ahead, check the Facebook Page, or e mail technicaldirector@gilberttheater.com  to make sure the Guild is meeting any given Tuesday.

We meet regularly at Gilbert Theater twice a month.  The first half hour of our regular meetings is social time.  Meet new people and see familiar faces.  The first order of business is a recap of the previous meeting, and the most recently completed projects.  We then discuss upcoming work and social events.  From time to time a small project is tackled during a regular meeting. Additionally, there are work calls, training, and other meetings which you can attend.

Date, Time and Location:

Second and fourth Tuesday of each month. 6:30 PM at the Gilbert Theater.

Meetings schedules for months with holidays will be announced the previous month.

Meetings for 2014:

July 8th and 22nd. August 12th and 26th. September 9th and 23rd.

October 14th and 28th. November 11th and 25th. December 9th ( no second meeting!!)
